All of our
pieces are welded on a 3-D Demmeler welding table from Germany. This
table is machined to very tight tolerances (within 0.0004 inches per
foot) to ensure stability and flatness. The end result is furniture
that is perfectly flat and true.
All of the
steel tubing we use is 11 gauge. For the 1-inch tubing this is the
strongest available, for the 1 ½-inch tubing it is the second
strongest available.
All of our
pieces are powder coated, a refined finishing technique first used in
Australia in 1967. Paint broken down to a powder is applied to our
pieces. Then the applied powder is heated (cured) to its melting point,
after which it flows to form a smooth film which dries to a firm,
durable finish which is very resistant to scratches, cracking, peeling,
UV rays and rust. The unique application characteristics of powder
coatings provide superior consistency and uniformity of finish without
sags, drips, runs, or bubbles. This finish is also suitable for outdoor
furniture. Numerous colors are available.
All pieces come
partially sanded unless other finish options are selected.
All open ends
are capped, welded shut and sanded smooth.
All pieces come
with plastic furniture sliders.
TV stands and
entertainment centers come with cord management ties and holders.
Entertainment
centers, TV stands, tables and shelves come with glass (unless terrazzo
or other top is selected).
All pieces will
have the characters “PK” sand-blasted in ¾ inch
dimension to authenticate our workmanship.
